The best of Paris Fashion Week

The Paris fashion shows conclude the long cycle of shows and presentations dedicated to the world of fashion that began in January 2022 with the Men’s Fashion Week and the Haute Couture week.

This time, two of the most beloved brands among those that animate our spaces with their prestigious stores took to the runway: Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu. Under the hands of the huge clock that heads the central nave of the Musée d’Orsay, Nicolas Ghesquière brings on stage the women’s autumn/winter 2022 collection.

Dominating the scene, among the neoclassical sculptures, are trench coats and bomber jackets with a vaguely militaristic look, double-breasted coats and many, many shirts: buttoned up to the neck, long-sleeved, worn with a tie or in white poplin.

The details disappear and only the essentials remain, even in the clothes. The palette, however, is lively: it ranges from red to orange, from pink to yellow to gold and silver. The volumes, as widely demonstrated throughout the previous season, continue to focus on oversize.

Changes course, however, Miu Miu. After the iconic spring/summer 2022 collection (the micro skirt and crop top have conquered every editorial in the industry and every social wall of stars and influencers), Miu Miu continues to revisit the uniforms, almost school-like, in a casual and sensual way.

The looks are in fact markedly collegiate and refer to the first videos of Britney Spears in the late nineties. The skirts remain micro, shorts are back and the t-shirt is above the belly button. The aesthetic is openly gender fluid, so much so that on the catwalk there are even alternating male garments and models that do not give up Bermuda shorts and crop jackets. Soon the new items presented on the catwalk will be available for purchase in our respective monobrand stores in the historic heart of Bologna and fashion, as it should be, will take to the streets from the show-biz stages to claim its rightful place in our wardrobes and we can’t wait!
